Dry cleaning :
90% of dry cleaners use a nasty chemical called Perc ( Perchloroethylene) which is linked to respiratory problems, birth defects and air pollution .
According to the INRS, the National Institute for Research and Safety, Perchloroethylene is a highly toxic product for the environment, particularly aquatic environments . Indeed, when released into water or air, it degrades very slowly.
In addition to perchloroethylene, the stain removers used by traditional dry cleaners are often also toxic products . Toxic substances that are still found in wastewater discharges...
So avoid standard dry cleaning and opt for green dry cleaners - a non-toxic and environmentally friendly alternative . These cleaners often use CO2 or water with biodegradable products as the primary solvent. So it's not like washing it at home. Even if your dry cleaners advertise "green" or "organic" products, be sure to ask if they use Perc , hydrocarbons, or D-5 cleaners , and be sure to avoid toxic substances.

Sequoia uses a D5 silicone solution , in which the textiles are bathed and cleaned, and which is reinforced by biodegradable detergents , which ensure the finishing of the cleaning.
A chemical component that you can find in certain cosmetic products (shampoos, deodorants, etc.), silicone D5 (Decamethylpentasiloxane) is in fact liquefied silica (sand), which appears in the form of a soft, colorless and odorless liquid.
Hand wash :
In a basin of cold water, add a tablespoon of delicate soap - choose a plant-based detergent without perfume, optical brighteners, chlorine or phosphates which are all harmful to your body and also to the environment.
To avoid all this, choose labeled detergents . We recommend the following labels:

Place your piece in cold water and wash it gently for a few minutes. Drain and fill the sink with clean, cold water. Rinse your piece by washing it once more , then gently squeeze it to remove excess water. Be careful not to wring or twist the piece roughly , as this can distort its shape. You can use a dry towel to squeeze out excess water from the garment . Finally, reshape the garment and lay it flat on a clothes horse to air dry .
Cold wash :
Recommend washing in cold water , rather than warm or hot water, and always wait until you have a full machine load . Pay attention to the label and choose a plant-based detergent that is free of fragrance, optical brighteners, chlorine and phosphates which are all bad for you and the environment.
Hang or lay flat to dry!
Guppyfriend wash bag :
Microfibers released during washing harm the environment. With every wash, countless plastic fibers from synthetic textiles make their way from washing machines to rivers and oceans.
So think about these very effective washing bags!
